I set up a del.icio.us account and explored a little bit. I love the concept of tagging. I also enjoyed Technorati and watching the new blog posts come up every few seconds. There are obviously an infinite number of possibilities with Library 2.0. Unfortunately many FM patrons are not as wired as the people referred to in the featured posts. The physical library building is still pretty necessary in this neck of the woods.
Library Thing is a wonderful resource for readers and a great site to explore. I'm not particularly interested in starting my own catalog, but I love to read what contributors have to say about books and I will use this site to browse for titles that I might want to read..
I created a bloglines account, but I don't think that I will check it frequently. Bloglines is great if you need "just the facts, ma'am", but I enjoy browsing a variety of websites - and not always the same ones. Besides, when I go to a friend's blog, I want it to look the way they designed it.
